Roza Eskenazy, the queen of Rembetiko! Born in Istanbul of Sephardic origins she then lived in Greece. She sang as she lived and she lived as she sang: with intense passion. 30 years after her death, a special and unique selection of voices and music will come together to honor her. The inspiration: Roza’s roots that unite Greece, Turkey and Israel.
Three distinguished performers from these three countries, Yasmin Levy from Israel, Martha Frintzila from Greece and Mehtap Demir from Turkey, will share the same stage and guide us in a musical journey through time to feel Roza’s spirit and the cosmopolitan aura of the Mediterranean culture.
